Written by Wilson HackThe existing house was outdated and dark. Dave wanted a kitchen island, but there wasn't enough space. By reconfiguring the laundry room in the back right corner and relocating it to the garage, we gained the necessary square footage to create a more open layout.
The entire kitchen was outfitted with IKEA cabinets and Semihandmade doors. Dave handcrafted the wooden pulls and the dropdown open shelving below the upper cabinets. Suzanna's custom handmade kitchenware is displayed beautifully, adding a personal touch to the space.
Suzanna added skylights to maximize natural light from above, and a larger window above the sink to further brighten the space. The oversized wooden frame around the window doubles as an extra storage shelf, adding texture and craftsmanship to every corner. Exquisite handmade backsplash tiles from Era Ceramics enhance the design with additional layers of artistry and organic detail. The result is a thoughtful, economical, and artistic design collaboration.
