Living Room

Here, the kitchen opens into the beautifully refreshed living room. The original office flanking the entry was transformed into a small playroom with a sliding barn door. Whether for privacy or for play, the door can be utilized to harness separateness or connection.

More Details

Suzanna removed the original dark cabinets next to the fireplace and, in doing so, instantly slimmed the bulky elevation. Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace was applied to the fireplace as well as to the overall room in order to brighten and soften. Custom oak shelving was added for storing the family’s records and media equipment. The existing french doors were painted in a Benjamin Moore Black for contrast. A Nelson Saucer Bubble Pendant from Design Within Reach adds rippled texture from above. Other than the fireplace area, the layout of the living room stayed the same. Existing blinds were removed to allow in maximum light. A comfortable chair from Pottery Barn sits peacefully in the corner accompanied by a custom built ottoman upholstered in antique saddle bag textiles.

Two swivel chairs by Cisco Brothers tie in the cool blue palette from the kitchen. An antique cabinet from Round Top corners the couch; atop sits a black lamp, knobby and spiky, from Lamps Plus. A camel leather sofa from Lee Industries acts as the backdrop for a plethora of pillows sourced from Etsy. The vintage Heriz area rug underlines the entire composition with a deep layer of studded tones and textures. A masterful solid white oak coffee table is a custom design by Suzanna herself, fabricated by Hatch Workshop. Large oak boards were sandwiched together then cut out and connected with circular legs and metal rods for stability. "I'm so happy with it!" exclaimed Suzanna.

Powder Bath

The existing bathroom got a complete overhaul with wallpaper by Rebecca Atwood, a vintage vanity and toilet cabinet from Round Top, a light from Schoolhouse, and a family painting done by the client’s grandmother.
